Matt Taibbi's wrong: Obama is still the same, dammit.
Most of you have seen Matt Taibbi's Rolling Stone article by now (see it here: http://www.rollingstone.com/po... ). But the first few paragraphs are what is endemic about the current mess, with this quote being one to which I take immediate exception:
What's taken place in the year since Obama won the presidency has turned out to be one of the most dramatic political about-faces in our history.
No. It's. Not.
An Open Letter to Senator Byrd, AKA "Comments on Byrd's letter to the POTUS"
crossposted from Alegre's Corner
I read with great incredulity last evening of Sen. Robert Byrd's letter to Barack Obama; Sen. Byrd, in this widely publicized letter to President Obama, is unhappy with what Byrd calls a "power grab" by the setting up of "policy czars" who bypass the Senate, thus doing an end-run around the Constitutional requirement of checks and balances.
Nuts and Bolts: Obama, Acorn, and Election Fraud
The vigilant Just Say No Deal (JSND) Coalition is keeping a watchful eye on ACORN. In a handy chart, the JSND editors have traced the nuts back to Obama's community organizing days, connected the dots to Obama's staffers and radical associates that form his new Democratic party, and linked to the entrenched interests within the Democratic Party that sheltered Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, causing the economic crisis. The troubling news about ACORN keeps rolling in with little mainstream media Obamedia scrutiny. Reacting to "recent revelations of ACORN registering dead, underage, and fictitious voters," JSND released a statement on Monday, October 6th, saying:
Tit for Tat
Mourn the end of Roosevelt's DNC. Its lamp was extinguished from within by once-trusted keepers of the flame, who plotted its demise. FDR's Party, the party of the people, is gone; it was the victim of a Chicago hit carried out brazenly on cable news for the entire nation to view.
The neo-Dem mob used the lethal weapons of misogyny, ageism, race-baiting, and classism for the slaughter. The evil cabal of suspects include Dean, Brazile, Axelrod, Pelosi, and every other elitist party official who thumbed his/her nose at the people's vote. There are forces within this country that want to dilute or even dissipate our collective power, and unfortunately they stretch far within the neo-Democratic Party.

WHERE HAVE ALL THE DEMOCRATS GONE??
Joyfully crossposted with permission from PUMA IRISH BRIGADE at Alegre's Corner.
I am not nor have I ever been a Republican, Let me say that unequivocally. I have been a staunch Democrat my entire life and have always voted the ticket. Today I am left wondering, where have all the Democrats gone???
It was always my personal belief that we were better than they (repubs) were on a number of fronts. We were the party that stood for fairness, equality on gender, work and racial issues. We were the "good guys" I thought. This election has horrified me on so many levels I cannot even express them all coherently.

The 21st Century Covenant
Herewith is the beginnings of my thoughts for changing the party after Nov. 4.
The 21st Century Covenant
Smokey back rooms, knee capping and
arm twisting were the politics of the 20th century. Democrats of the
New Century are joining hands in a Covenant to make this the party of
the people, by the people and for the people.

Meet the new Chairman
Sorry folks but I thought that if I had to see him in my email then everyone should be able to share in the event.
An Inconvenient Election
(Crossposted at Alegre's Corner)
What have I learned from the 2008 election?
I learned that:
Voter fraud, vote theft and voter intimidation are all OK with the Democratic Party, so long as they're done on behalf of their chosen candidate, Barack Obama.
It's all right with the Democratic Party to have incompetent, immature twits on your staff -- sexists included -- so long as they're part of Barack Obama's staff. (No need to worry about your liberal credentials, boys! So long as you're for Obama, that's just fine with us.)
