MSM

Thinking about this Shirley Sherrod learning moment
A pivotal spot in political history.
Don't we all feel dumb now? Every talking head saying how every other talking head jumped the gun without doing the journalist's job of checking the facts. The White House doing the worst in this mess by reacting to a clip on a blog post because it might have an effect on the evening Presidential ratings.
And not just talking heads. Even this blog has a post showing the original short clip that Andrew Breitbart used to target the NAACP.
This is the time for us all to have the conversation. Not about race or immigration, rich or middle class, tax cuts or jobs programs, abortion or adoption.
No
This is the time for us to have a thoughtful conversation about how we as a nation wish to converse about our future as a nation.
Do we wish to continue the one minute news cycle that demands instantaneous responses thus feeding the one minute news cycle? It has become a monster that feeds on itself. It especially loves to feed on instant polls and un-verified writings by unknown self appointed journalists.
Newsweek-dkos-Palin
short, unsweet, and to the point:
As we all know, Newsweek Magazine has been the channel for all the ANONYMOUS sources continuing to spread post-election smears of Governor Palin.
Let's not forget:
dkos founder and publisher, Markos Moulitsas, has a job at Newsweek;
it was dkos, following John McCain's announcent of Sarah Palin as his running mate, which quickly started that vicious rumor/lie about Palin's baby not being her own child.
Put two and two together, folks. What do you think?
Take Her Out: The Witch Hunt Continues
The mainstream media is still going after Sarah Palin like a pack of hyenas. They know she could spell trouble for the powerful good ole boys, and clearly want to do her in beforehand, nip her promising political future in the bud. I'm putting 2 and 2 together, and it's sounding pretty conspiratational. I think it's the Bush guys. A few weeks ago Bush pundits and supporters were coming out endorsing Obama, and at the same time saying nasty things about Palin. Well, it's a pay-back-time thing. Remember the pipeline legislation back up in Alaska? Palin said no to big oil. The Bush administration bullies, specifically Cheny's office, were pressuring Governor Palin to toe the line and give the pipeline to their oil buddies.
news reports' quotes:
"Cheney's staff pressed the Palin administration to draw in the energy companies, said current and former state officials involved in those discussions."

I remember when good enough wasn't good enough
Do you?
I remember when this country wanted it's President to be great not just good enough.
I remember when Presidential candidates like Bobby, Gene or Dennis stood for things and staked their lives on those beliefs.
Tonight, though my rose colored glasses thought McCain won hands down, the MSM are happy, even giddy that Obama did "good enough". He didn't mess up, he didn't make any big blunders. He was good enough.
John McCain led every single discussion including those Obama had first. McCain drove the discusiion and as usual Obama said Me Too. Not in those words but we Clintonistas remember how bambi always agreed with Hillary. Never offered anything new. He takes the safe road of agreement and the MSM let him.
Do you remember when the press wanted our leaders to be better than good enough?
Remember Dan Rather refusing to back down in the face of the most powerful man on Earth?

The MSM and the Woman
I'm going to write about it everytime I hear it.
The White women are moving to the White Woman, now 52% according to ABC. That's not an exact quote, but fairly close to what Mika said and John Harwood said on Morning Joe today.
They are setting this up to be about race and sex, nothing else.

Maybe? Maybe we drank the Kool-Aid
Maybe we've been had.
I mean it. Maybe for the last X years we've been drinking kool-aid. Maybe, just maybe we've been listening to the wrong people.
We all know the world is upside down. We're living a Vonnegut novel that ends before it starts, where left is right and right is left. Up is down and down is up.
A fantasy world where Democrats follow a Rovian Rasputin and Republicans follow a Truthsayer.
Well here's something else to think about.
The Making of Barack Obama
In case you have been questioning your ethics, your insight, your stance on our political process and the 2008 Presidential election, you need to read the following excerpt from the Limbaugh show (Yuck! I know, I know; just get over it and do it. It's a favor you owe yourself. ) Also, make a point of trying to catch the entire Charlie Rose interview of Newsweek writers Meecham and Thomas that Rush Limbaugh covers in this excerpt. (How do these people live with themselves?)
