The perverted call it marriage.

They ignore the misogyny and pedophilia fostered by the backward cultures that enable marriages of adult men to child brides.

The photo to the left is of Alya; she is a British Muslim girl, who has decided not to wear the hijib (head scarf). She thought about the matter long and hard for more than two years, before finally removing it. Her immediate family supported her decision.

Unfortunately, for Alya, her extended family has a different take on the matter. The photo on the right is of her cousin, Mohamad; he delivered their ultimatum, which is basically wear the hijib or die.  

Last summer, one of the big international stories came out of Egypt; an Egyptian lawyer urged Muslim men to rape Jewish women. The story was particularly surprising, because the lawyer was a woman named Nagla Al-Iman, who did not see anything wrong with her thinking. This summer story was followed by another one in the fall concerning Muslim men in the UK, who led a gang-rape gang that targeted school girls. It was a disturbing story given the age of the girls. Our Progressive “Journolist”  types  haven’t the grace to  disappear, despite the scandal that they conspired to shove Obama down our throats by refusing to tell the truth as they plotted their false narrative to ensure his presidency.  While  Obama works to unseat Jimmy Carter as the worst President evah after only 19 months in office, our media is currently pushing the meme that all Muslims are beautiful, honest, faithful and true, while Americans are racist and xenophobic and blah, blah, blah, blahblah. Our media types obviously don’t read the real news, because they are too busy making it up to fit their elitist worldview.

It's that easy in this country for the a sicko, raised to believe women are property.  It's that easy to show his manhood by popping down to the local gun show and then offing a few of those horrid women who didn't jump into bed on a finger snap.

I used the word I promised never to use again.  I had to in this case.

I'm writing this because I just read Bob Herbert's piece in yesterday's New York Times.  Herbert sees the misognyny that causes the shooting sprees and he links it with the insanely easy availability of guns in this country.  He also calls out all Americans for not being outraged, not screaming to stop the killing.

Back in the fall of 2006, a fiend invaded an Amish schoolhouse in rural Pennsylvania, separated the girls from the boys, and then shot 10 of the girls, killing five.

I wrote, at the time, that there would have been thunderous outrage if someone had separated potential victims by race or religion and then shot, say, only the blacks, or only the whites, or only the Jews. But if you shoot only the girls or only the women — not so much of an uproar.

Oh my Goddess, did you read what our Dear Leader said last night? (I’m assuming that most of you didn’t watch, lest you die from Obama Narcissism Overload, or at the very least, overdose on the saccharine ejaculations of the chattering classes over the Bestest, Most Melanin-Enhanced Preznit Evah.) Did you fucking read what this condescending, preening creep said about being pro-choice in America?

Abortion rights: the term is everywhere these days. 

Pro-choice organizations use it; anti-choice organizations use it. The phrase seems to have slipped into today’s lexicon without making a splash. But really, what does it mean?

Let me ask you, feminist females who are in the pro-choice camp. Do you want abortion rights? Are you going to go around carrying a sign saying, “My body, my abortion?”

I don’t think so.

I believe that this meme is classic rightwing ratf*cking from the Gingrich school, and to use it is giving the He-Man Woman-Haters’ Club yet another victory in the framing wars.

Three words:

What.

What the hell is our problem, feminists of America?

Most people in this country do not know how explicitly misogynistic Barack Obama's campaign was. They don't have time to sit at the computer and read The Daily Kos, or Talking Points Memo, or The Huffington Post. They didn't read the vile, endless hatred spewed at women by Obama's supporters. They believe the lovely stories spun by the corporate media: that Obama was saintly and above all negativity and "unifying," while his opponents rolled around in dirt. And even when Obama or his surrogates did or said something overtly misogynistic, the media either did not cover it, or excused it.

Our beloved blogmother has asked all of us Conflucians to "come out" and explain what we are doing on November 4th, and to choose a word that would summarize our NOBAMA position.

My word is "misogyny," and I'm voting for the 30% Solution in order to begin improving the lives of women throughout this great country.

After seeing this video of McCain supporters verbally assaulted on the streets of the Upper West Side, it is no surprise that things would escalate into physical violence.

That's an amazing statement for me to make but today I realized the truth.  I am a feminist.

Yes, I'm of the male variety and I'm not gay.  In fact many would consider me a sexist for my woman loving ways but I'll argue with anyone that a love of women and a love of the female form is anything but sexist.

But today it hit me or really it started yesterday while fishing and I finalized the thought today.  Damn.  Fishing is the one thing I do where concentration completely clears the mind of any problems or worries.  But even in the outstandingly beautiful fall weather and good fishing my mind came back to this election.  That's what bama has done.  Ruined my fishing.
