Breaking News: Lou Dobbs quits CNN sticky icon

(h/t: Count Us Out)

Jawdropping! I could hardly believe what I was hearing as Lou Dobbs announced he is leaving CNN, effective tonight. The NYT reports that Dobbs met with Fox's Roger Ailes in September but a spokesperson said today, “We have not had any discussions with Lou Dobbs for Fox News or Fox Business.”

Update: Lou Dobbs to Quit CNN - Media Decoder Blog - NYTimes.com

They say Dobbs is anti-immigration but that's inaccurate. Dobbs, along with most of America, is anti-illegal immigration. CNN is way too in-the-tank with Obama and they have miserable ratings as a result. Fox News Channel is tops in the ratings by a very wide margin.

Let's hope we get to hear more from Lou Dobbs in the very near future. He'll still be on the radio.

How CNN and Crappy polls can sway voters sticky icon

That piece of crap is the current poll on CNN.com.  The poll creates in the user's mind the belief that there are only three options, totally ignoring the 4th and olny option that matters.

A Public Option

No fecking opt out by state, no trigger and definately no plan without a public option.

Why did the overpaid CNN pollster or intern not include the 4th answer?  I don't know but I think it is because of the blinders they where.  They only see the news through the lens of their cameras.  What is on the news today and not what is on the tape from last month or yesterday.  Or maybe they are paid by the Insurance companies too.

Whatever the reason, this is a perfect example of how public opinion can be swayed by the slightest little push.

Carol Costello - "Is Feminism Obsolete?" sticky icon

Offered up as a question fully intended to create controversy, Carol Costello's Friday morning segment titled Just Sayin', asked the question, Is Feminism Obsolete?

It was actually a well meaning followup to the Palin - Letterman week that was.  But listenning this morning I couldn't help but think that Costello completely missed the point.  Yes we on the intertubes are having a heated debate about who and what is a feminist.  Can you be "pro-life" and be a feminist?  Can you be a goper and be a feminist?  Can you call Obama the New Face of Feminism and be a feminist? (Costello didn't ask that one).

My real gripe.  The recent Letterman - Palin event was not about Feminism, it was about Children and the protection of those children from predators and predatory attitudes.  It was about anyone's children whether they be right, left, commie or nazi.  Children are off limits.

You decide on where they went with the feminist discussion.

"Clinton's mockery of Obama proves true" sticky icon

Now CNN even gets it. Or do they?

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- During the most contentious stretch of the Democratic presidential primary campaign last winter, then-candidate Hillary Clinton mocked Barack Obama for his pledge to transcend Washington's entrenched partisanship.
President Obama, who won the presidency on a bipartisan platform, now faces a very divided Washington.

"The sky will open. The lights will come down. Celestial choirs will be singing and everyone will know we should do the right thing and the world will be perfect!" Clinton bellowed.

Obama dismissed Clinton's sarcasm as overly cynical and further evidence she was a creature of Washington. But as President Obama prepares to make his first major address to Congress, Clinton's comments are borne out.
