President Barack Obama
During Obama’s first run for the presidency, we read and heard a great deal about his Kenyan family. Candidate Barack Obama used that tie and his Indonesian childhood to weave the message that his multicultural heritage and upbringing made him uniquely better able to lead America in the 21Century.
“Roy”, Obama’s Kenyan half-brother (the Muslim polygamist that not long ago took a teen as his third wife), has turned up again just in time for Obama's next run.
His name is tied to news about a Barry H. Obama Foundation he runs that claims to support poor Kenyans. The organization, which is named after President Obama’s father, claims it is a tax-exempt, federally recognized charity, but it seems it isn’t.
The New York Post ran the story over the weekend:
The story of an Afghan girl named Aisha was first told by CNN and ABC, but it was her image on an August cover of Time that gave her story international prominence. Her testimony, about how she was forced to marry a Taliban fighter at the age of 12 and his mutilation of her when she fled in fear of her life, was a true life tale that could not be ignored. It is hard to forget this young Afghan woman, knowing what was done to her.
Good News for Aisha
Since that cover appeared, the 18-year-old has been undergoing medical treatment with a California surgeon. Aisha appeared last week for the first time with her new prosthetic nose at an LA benefit for the Gross Burn Foundation, the organization that provided funding for the reconstructive surgery. The before-and-after results are pictured below:
Have you seen this?
Lt Colonel Terry Lakin has put his life on the line all over the world and served our country and its citizens with honor. Lakin was the lead flight surgeon charged with caring for Army Chief of Staff General George W. Casey’s flight crew. He is no slouch, and it’s difficult if not impossible to pigeon-hole him as some kind of weirdo.
Throughout his career, Lakin had to gain security clearance for the trusted positions he has held within our Armed Forces. Because Lakin has presented the information so many times and witnessed others inside and outside the military do the same thing, he took notice of President Obama’s failure to provide the same type of information. The Lt. Colonel was on a successful career path, when he put his career and his life on hold to do what his conscience told him he must. He asked himself: How can the military be expected to answer to a POTUS that has never been proven eligible?
In short, Lakin has questioned the President's "natural born" status, as mandated by the U.S. Constitution's Article II, Section 1. To this day, Lakin has not received a definitive response from the Department of Defense or his Congressional delegation assuring him of President Obama’s Constitutional eligibility. Lakin wants the same verification from the POTUS that he and most of the rest of us have provided countless times throughout our lives.ShareThis
The POTUS needs to stop rewriting American history and stick to the truth. In his recent Ramadan Message, President Obama said Ramadan rituals:
"remind us of the principles that we hold in common and Islam's role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings. Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality. And here in the United States, Ramadan is a reminder that Islam has always been part of America and that American Muslims have made extraordinary contributions to our country."
Some people, who remember his bow to the Saudi king, are saying that President Obama took another deep bow to Islam with the above comment. They have a point. (It's too bad he said it in the White House.)
Obama’s statement is an example of a deeply flawed, revisionist view of American history. More to the point, it is also an untrue depiction of Islam, as this segment from a Washington Times editorial so clearly points out:
That Islam has had a major role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings may come as a surprise to Muslim women. Young Afghan girls who are having acid thrown in their faces on the way to school might want to offer their perspectives. That Islam is "known" for diversity and racial equality is also a bit of a reach. This certainly does not refer to religious diversity, which is nonexistent in many Muslim-majority states. This is a plaudit better reserved for a speech at the opening of a synagogue in Mecca.
During his 17 months in office, Barack Obama has morphed from an upbeat candidate into a POTUS who delivers little of value, at the expense of both our fiscal solvency and our American way of life. Even more disconcerting, Obama has become a President, who treats foreign nationals and their interests with more respect than he treats American citizens and issues directly related to the future viability of this country. We cannot forget his bow in front of the Saudi King and his embrace of Hugo Chavez.
We compare it to his offensive lack of attention to Governor Bobby Jindal’s requests for Louisiana during the current environmental disaster. His stance on illegal immigration in Arizona and his treatment of Janet Brewer is just more of the same. When he disses them, he disses those who voted for them, and by extension all the rest of us living in this democracy. The man, who touted his early Indonesian education, doesn’t seem to have an iota of respect for representative government and by extension the citizens he leads.ShareThis
Last Sunday, the Iranian government hung five political prisoners, using politically-motivated executions to intimidate and terrorize its opposition. We knew before that lashings are required for women judged as "immodest" in Iran and that death by stoning is almost a national pastime there. Now we learn that the Iranian government arrests innocent people; makes them stand trial in a kangaroo court; keeps prisoners confused about the state of their incarceration; and then hangs them in secret.
Since some people may not have seen the video of Neda bleeding to death on a Tehran street or may be somewhat confused by the UN’s decision to allow Iran a seat on its influential human rights body known as the Commission on the Status of Women, let’s put it in print. Human rights are nonexistent in Iran, because a totalitarian, misogynist, theocratic government reigns supreme there without checks or balance. The executions only underscore that point; the Iranian government is nothing but supremely malevolent.
“We arrived at this point as a result of an era of profound irresponsibility that engulfed both private and public institutions from some of our largest companies’ executive suites to the seats of power in Washington.” -President Barack Obama's Spending Plan
Remember the Copenhagen Climate Conference in Denmark? CBS reporter Sharyl Attkinsson remembered it and decided to follow the money and uncover exactly how much that experiment in international relations cost the American taxpayer. As a result of that investigation and thanks to Congressional expense reports, Attkinsson found that American taxpayers covered the expenses for the following Congressional members and their entourage:ShareThis
MSNBC's star spinner Chris Mathews is well known for taking the liberty of branding White Americans as racist any chance he can. Matthews even accused Bill Clinton of being one, despite the fact that President Clinton was once dubbed the "First Black President" for his support of the Black American Community. Many viewers have determined that Mathews and his network aren't worth their time and switched channels.
That's what I happily did, so like other ex-viewers I wasn't watching when Mathews stuck his foot in his lying mouth, where it still remains. During his coverage of President Obama's first State of the Union address, Matthews uttered a comment that sounded -- hmmm-- really, truly, racist.ShareThis
Despite the results of the Massachusetts election, President Barack Obama's State of the Union address communicated the message that he has stubbornly decided to stay the course with his far-left agenda. He ignored the winning strategy of Bill Clinton, namely, a shift to the center. His decision has handed his opponents an unexpected gift.
During the presentation of his first SOTU message, President Obama attempted to charm, but he appeared irritated, angry, even condescending at times. His overall professorial demeanor sometimes seemed defiant even haughty. He freely placed blame on everyone but himself, despite the fact that he was elected to the US Senate in 2004, and became President in 2009 with promises of change yet to be fulfilled.
Obama’s actions do not bode well for Democrats in November elections. He has demanded more spending, while promising future cuts in discretionary spending, failing to grasp how that move would negatively affect job creation. He smartly said: “we face a deficit of trust,” but failed to grasp that the truth of his statement reflected on his leadership.
He has ignored the mood of the country; he has stubbornly stayed the course.ShareThis
Does the Obama Administration believe what's coming out of the White House? I don’t think so, and there seems to be more than a few Americans who agree with me. Unfortunately, we see it as lies and obfuscation or what strategists like to call "political spin". The Obama team is simply pretending that Scott Brown's victory was not blowback resulting from its own actions. It has decided to create a smoke screen rather than appear weak. They know there are people who will actually believe them. They also know our unethical media types will disseminate their
lies spin without question.
Like President Obama in his Wednesday interview with Stephanopoulos, Robert Gibbs took up air space today to spread the White House's convoluted logic. With unflinching eyes, both men firmly stated that Scott Brown's victory was not a repudiation of Obama’s agenda and the Democratic Majority’s Congressional governance, despite the fact that Brown is a Republican who has won a very Blue Senate seat.ShareThis
President Obama will leave Thursday night for Copenhagen, where he will join his wife and pals, Oprah and Valarie Jarrett. The POTUS will make a personal appeal to the International Olympic Committee on behalf of Chicago and its bid for the 2016 Olympics. Many Americans are puzzled by his action, since there is so much that needs attention here; Afghanistan, the economy, health care, just to name a few. How can he go there, especially now, for that? Nobody bothers to ask the people of Illinois, especially those in Chicago, who know the answer.
Obama is going, because the leaders of the other contenders, namely Tokyo, Madrid, and Rio will be there. Obama owes Mayor Daley. Daley took the first-term US Senator with no record of real achievement under his arm, and Daley sold him to the rich and powerful, the powerbrokers, the movers and shakers in Chicago and the Democratic Party; the kind of people Daley has bonded with over his many, many years as Mayor of the City of Chicago. Richard Daley has bet his reputation on getting the Olympics for his hometown and some of his homies hope to make a mint off the games, so the POTUS has to go. Obama owes him; and he owes them. It's politics.ShareThis
Deception involves the weaving of truth, half truths, lies and omissions. To avoid exposure and perpetuate a deception, the deceiver has to remember all the bits and pieces of the deception. The Sir Walter Scott quote used for the title of this diary captures the reality of deception in one beautiful succinct statement.
On the other hand, the following graph shows what happens when truth and reality poke holes in a carefully weaved deception:
You may disagree, but that's how I view Obama's descent in recent polling. Rasmussen's Approval Ratings are based on the polling of likely voters. Does this graph speak for you?ShareThis
In an attempt to get citizen support for his Healthcare Plan, President Obama decided to paint America’s surgeons as villains. The video below captured his misinformed remarks.
The American College of Surgeons took offense to the POTUS’ statement and posted a website response to his inflammatory remarks. An abbreviated version of that letter appears below:
CHICAGO—The American College of Surgeons is deeply disturbed over the uninformed public comments President Obama continues to make about the high-quality care provided by surgeons in the United States. When the President makes statements that are incorrect or not based in fact, we think he does a disservice to the American people at a time when they want clear, understandable facts about health care reform. We want to set the record straight.ShareThis
America's budget deficit hit the Trillion mark (actually $1.09Trillion) for the first time in history. Since there are still three months of the financial year remaining and job losses could top 11%, we probably will go even deeper into the abyss. (Fasten your seatbelt; it is going to be a bumpy ride.)
The bad news surrounding our deficit means we will pay higher interest rates to countries like China that buy our debt. China’s leaders, who we sometimes forget are communists since they can’t hide there love of capitalism, are making quite a stink about our “weak” money. The Chinese are talking about an alternative currency to our dollar; I find their position intolerable since our politicians and Ivy League economists pushed “the earth is flat” rhetoric that led to the destruction of American industry and factories and made China and other third world countries rich at our expense.
Just when I’ve started to forgive Texas for its role in the last eight years, I find another one of its native sons messing with my world. (It must be something in the water.)
Remember when we joked about the Obots wanting to put Obama’s head on Mt. Rushmore next to Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Teddy Roosevelt? (Take a close look at the photo at your left.) Artist David Adickes of Houston, Texas has created a 20 foot tall, 12 Ton bust of our new President and has taken it is on a 40-city, 10-state tour.ShareThis
