Truth: Mexico Has Stricter Immigration Laws than America sticky icon

H/T ML

Yesterday, Mexico's President used a White House Press Conference to share his opinion of Arizona’s attempts to solve the rise in crime it’s experiencing, due to an open Southern border. Obama looked on as President Felipe Calderón criticized Arizona law in front of foreign and American reporters. The POTUS followed up with some comments of his own.  You can watch some of that event here:

Yes. I believe that Health Care is a Right sticky icon

I'd move to Europe if I could where health care is a right.  Health is not a right and the absolute best care is not a right but in a modern society that posesses the tools of modern medicine, getting that medicine to every person is becoming one of the major purposes of government. It is a right most everywhere but here.  And I am going to fight like hell to make it an unalienable right.

Right does not equal Free.  We have a right in this country to be protected by the best fighting forces on Earth.  If our town was to flood I expect the Guard to protect us.  But that right has a price that I gladly pay for with taxes.  And those who pay no taxes, does the guard tell them to fuck off and get their own boat?

An Open Letter to Senator Byrd, AKA "Comments on Byrd's letter to the POTUS" sticky icon

crossposted from Alegre's Corner

I read with great incredulity last evening of Sen. Robert Byrd's letter to Barack Obama; Sen. Byrd, in this widely publicized letter to President Obama, is unhappy with what Byrd calls a "power grab" by the setting up of "policy czars" who bypass the Senate, thus doing an end-run around the Constitutional requirement of checks and balances.
