WHERE HAVE ALL THE DEMOCRATS GONE??

I am not nor have I ever been a Republican, Let me say that unequivocally. I have been a staunch Democrat my entire life and have always voted the ticket. Today I am left wondering, where have all the Democrats gone???

It was always my personal belief that we were better than they  (repubs) were on a number of fronts. We were the party that stood for fairness, equality on gender, work and racial issues. We were the "good guys" I thought. This election has horrified me on so many levels I cannot even express them all coherently.

Today as I sit here watching the latest vile attack on McCain I wonder where the morals of my fellow Democrats have gone? This is not really about McCain, only due to the fact that it is the most recent abuse of position and power by my supposed compatriots. This is really about liberal so called Democrats throwing away their core principles and values and selling out. The admitted doctoring of various photos  of McCain by an admitted Democrat, Jill Greenberg working for "The Atlantic" see below, These are the same people who led the charge against so called doctored photos of Obama (charges that were false, but that did not matter to them)  

"Greenberg also crowed that she had tricked McCain into standing over a strobe light placed on the floor - turning the septuagenarian's face into a horror show of shadows.
Asking McCain to 'please come over here' for a final shot, Greenberg pretended to be using a standard modeling light.
The resulting photos depict McCain as devilish, with bulging brows and washed-out skin.
'He had no idea he was being lit from below," Greenberg said, adding that none of his entourage picked up on the light switch either. 'I guess they're not very sophisticated,' she said.

Greenberg later decided to use some of the images she was assigned to take to make a political statement.

Her Web site now features a series of Photoshopped pics of McCain in some highly unflattering poses - including one that has a monkey squirting dung onto the Republican candidate's head. Another one reads 'I am a bloodthirsty warmongerer,' with McCain retouched to have needle-sharp shark teeth and a vicious grin, while licking blood-smeared lips."

This is only a small part of the gross tactics used by so called  Liberal Democrats, who purport to strive for all the core issues Democrats stand for. Today in the New York Times, there are several articles written as hit pieces. One attempts to put forth the theory that Palin is the real candidate running, as McCain will probably die in office. I mean really!! Suddenly this type of theorizing is alright? Was it not these same people who cried out when they were attempting to push Hillary out of the race and she made the comment about Bobby Kennedy, which, they conveniently misconstrued and distorted to their benefit? Yet there is absolutely NO misconstruing what they have written regarding McCain and Palin. And aren't these the same people who attacked Hillary for stating the historical fact that it took legislation by a POTUS to enact MLK's dream for equality? Yet, if you listened to Obama's talk at the 9-11 presidential event at Columbia recently, he said the very same thing! However now it is acceptable to them?

If we look back at this election during the primary season, we see hundreds of these types of attacks being flung at Hillary Clinton, a former First Lady, A New York Senator, and a Democratic Presidential Candidate. I also witnessed and was the recipient of vile attacks myself,  by so called fellow Democrats, simply for supporting my choice of Hillary in a supposedly Democratic County.

Today I have come to the very sad realization, that the Democratic party and vast majority of its followers are no better than the Republicans in their treatment of Women, voting rights, and Win at All Cost dirty tactics.   It is now very clear that what the liberal left Democrats abhorred the most, e.g. right wing media slant and favourtism on Television and print, plus Right wing smear campaigns and falsified attacks, manipulation of information and fear tactics all honed to perfection by Carl Rove, have now become accepted, adopted and used with Rovian expertise and glee within in the Democratic party and it's Obama cult supporters and followers.

I submit that these so called, left liberals are no such thing at all, but are in fact wealthy, well educated elitists (like Obama) and in order to make themselves feel better about their wealth and status, become involved in righteous campaigns for the less fortunate and for equality. Yet the truth is they are wolves in sheep's clothing, or should I say they are Elitists masquerading as "regular" folk who sell themselves as liberals for equality and fairness in order to tell themselves they are doing the right thing. However, the mask has now slipped and their face is showing. For theses causes are true causes for the people who genuinely believe in them, and by that I mean this; No amount of party pressure, peer pressure or loyalty to a political party should ever stand in the way of the core principles of these causes and values. If your party begins to show signs of becoming what you have fought against and despise, then a true supporter of these issues will remain true to the cause and say to the party this is unacceptable! Rather than seeing this , what we see instead is a banding together and a zealous embrace of these tactics and they have somehow justified that it is alright to win at any cost, including destroying the values the Democratic party and  the values it's supporters have always held dear.

It is time for these elitist faux liberal Democrats to take a long hard look in the mirror. Time to ask themselves what and who they really are. Time to admit to themselves that they actually ARE elitist who think they know better then the regular folk and the less educated or poor they claim to want equality and fairness for.

Instead of proving by example that Democrats are a better choice and will remain true to core values, what we see is that they have now become just as unethical as the Republicans.

The true measure of ones values are tested when the underdog gains the power, this year the Democrats had the power, due to the last 8 years of Bush and the state of the country and world, and they have failed miserably in remaining true to their values and principles. So, I say again, where have all the Democrats gone?
