Obama is acting more and more like Bush
To date, we know Obama has RETAINED and supports these Bush policies:
(1) warrantless wiretapping of American citizens
(2) legal immunity for the telecoms giants that spied on us without warrants
(3) still prohibits federal funding of embryonic stem cell research
(4) is continuing the rendition of "enemy" prisoners to foreign countries (where they can be tortured)
(5) has decided prisoners in America's Bagram military prison (in Afghanistan) have NO rights that we (or he) must respect
(6) uses the ruse of "state secrets" to terminate trials against those who are accused of torturing prisoners
(7) plans to destroy Social Security while calling it "reforming" Social Security
(-) nominates tax cheats and lobbyists to run government agencies
(9) refuses to allow prisoners in American jails to use DNA evidence to prove their innocence (even if they pay for the tests)
(10) uses fear to get his way by rushing legislation through Congress
(11) without Congressional authorization, Obama has ordered the bombing of a country we are NOT at war with (Pakistan)
(12) is stonewalling media requests for access to court records in the ongoing Guantanamo detainee litigation.

worse than Bush. I'm very disappointed so far. This new admin is becoming scarier than I imagined and worse than I feared. Still, there are opportunities here.
plan!!!
:O
This one is for YOU, NEW HAMPSTER!!!!!
Obama Energy Plan Includes Nano-Generators That Bite
Just picture rooms full of hamsters cranking out the killowatts. Of course you have to feed them, grow the crops, harvet the seed. Not free energy by any stretch.
Thanks for the info. it's cool and you should cross post it here.

Thanks for the Diary - great list!! And, yes, we should post it regularly here - and update when appropriate.
A photo of Obama is running today where he's striking this really serious pose, sort of squinting to make it look like he's thinking. Dubya started that squinting thing.
Very funny. (Hey Nobama, the Dow came pretty close to dipping into the high 6,000s today, hope you're hanging onto your seat! Exciting times!)
All those powers Bush and Cheney aggregated to themselves are now in the hands of Barack Obama.
Obama is consolidating powers at the White House that are constitutionally Congress's powers (ask Sen. Byrd).
Yes! Please add this to your list ... and repost it for us now and then.
Hey rentarainbow.! It is so weird that I was thinking, the other day, that we haven't seen a post from you in a while, and here you are. Obama could have lifted the ban on stem cell research his first week in office. I am really really angry about his stalling on this issue.
-- Air Force One.
At a time when Obama SHOULD be staying at the White House working on dealing with stem cell research or this (as he has endlessly described it) "catastrophic" economic "crisis," he is jumping onto Air Force One, again today, for yet another waste of about a million dollars in taxpayer money. Yes, with all the extra security and maintenance precautions that are a part of Air Force One's drill, I believe it is no exaggeration to say that every time Obama flies anywhere on that airliner, he is wasting tons of our tax dollars. (Yet he lectures us about our need to "sacrifice.")
Obama acts as if he is still campaigning -- which I guess is more his cup of tea than actually working at governing is.
We know he doesn't have a reputation for be a "nose to the grind stone" hardworker (like someone else we love). But, yeah, he should stay home like the rest of us are doing!
