Senate Votes Tonight on Geithner

Sharyn - Posted on 26 January 2009

The senate will be voting on Geithner tonight around six.  PLEASE call your senators NOW and tell them to vote NO to having a tax cheat running the Treasury Department.  And get a friend to call too.

I called my senators, and their offices said they are gettings a huge majority of calls saying vote no on Tim Geithner.  Activists:  please join us and stop this cheater.

For comparison:  remember the total outrage over Zoe Baird's nanny!  This guy not only has a nanny problem; his cheating on taxes is far, far more egregious --- and he's being slipped on in.  And it's barely being mentioned on morning news shows. (maybe they'll be talking about it later?)

CALL YOUR SENATORS!!!

I hope the public outrage is enough to stop it.

Makes a statement.

it was a squeaker, that's good.

looks the same as Bush III to me

awesome.

Harkin voted "no"?  Weird.  I figured Grassley for a "no" but thought Harkin would toe the party line.

Pretty nice...both my senators, one from each party, said "no".  Too bad there weren't more with guts enough to do what was right.

GONE FISHING

Your call was a big factor.  Plus Harkin has a history of doing the right thing.  He's got chutzpa and doesn't just toe the party line because they said so.  And he won't toe Obama's line either.

ECHO, Echo, echo...

GONE FISHING

Good for Senators Byrd, Feingold, Harkin and Sanders. They showed some integrity. The 64 that voted yea are just political hacks with no integrity and no interest in honest government.

The status quo, which means no integrity and honesty is what they voted for. A double standard that says those like Geithner can not only get away with something that would land most average citizens in deep trouble but can be confirmed as the Fox in charge of our monetary Henhouse. What a bunch of crap!

Four didn't vote. Bond (R-MO) Brown (D-OH) Kennedy (D-MA) Wyden (D-OR) We know why Kennedy didn't vote, but what's with Sherrod Brown and Wyden?

A Dishonest/Biased Media Is A Crime Against Democracy!

They voted "Present"
