From Mike Allen at Politico

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Monday named Todd D. Stern, a trusted top aide in her husband’s White House, to serve as a special envoy for climate change.
Sterns' appointment, she said, sends "an unequivocal message that the United States will be energetic, focused, strategic and serious about addressing global climate change and the corollary issue of clean energy."

This is good news that I found while searching for the latest on Susan Rice supposedly announcing direct talks with Iran. That would be good but funny how I thought that would be Hillary's job.
Update: I found it

Asked to comment on what action the new administration might take on Iran's nuclear pursuits, Ambassador Rice said the United States remains "deeply concerned" about the threat that program poses to the region and the international community. She said the U.S. would pursue vigorous diplomacy that would be both directly with Iran and continued collaboration with the other four permanent members of the Security Council and Germany through the group known as the "P-Five Plus One".

I don't know anything about Stern, except what you have said here If Hillary picked him, he's gotta be a sharp guy. I am glad that climate change is going to be addressed in a serious manner from now on. As for Susan Rice, I read somewhere, awhile back, that she could be waiting in the wings just in case Obama forces Hillary out. That is one reason I didn't want Hillary to accept the SOS position. I am afraid she will asked to "fall on her sword" for Obama if he makes a mess of things. What do you think NH?
has already been drawn. There is real disagreement in PUMA world about Hillary taking the job.
I think it's a mistake she'll long regret, or she's got ideas for using the postion that my wee little mind can't even comprehend. And I do think she is that smart.

I respectfully disagree, Hamp. I think she's going to be one of American history's greatest Secretaries of State--maybe the greatest!. How exactly that will transpire I can't say, because like you admitted, we're not as smart as she is! But I have overwhelming faith in her ability to do great things for our country.

I do not have faith in him. He is the President and he can change his mind and turn on her at a moments notice. Then we'll hear him say, "She's not the Hillary I used to know". I honestly wish I could trust him. It sure would make home life better. But I do not trust the snake oil salesman one little bit. And as I've said before, I love his policies so far and I have a good feelng about his presidency.

Susan Rice. I have no faith in O. None. But the Hillary win over is something to behold. She will reach in there and kill Susan Rice with charm.
I have not been a big Fan of anyone named RICE in Government Latley...But Hillary...she can hold her own and would have been president by a Landslide..Thats how much People Respected her...I certainly do...
