My party no longer needs me, or have I grown beyond?

This site is neither for or against.  I, and I hope that becomes we, will tolerate any civil discussion1.

A few of the issues we focus on.

But the overriding Mission of Partizane.com is to fight for the middle. Fight for the right to disagree. If we can help create a new party or radically change one of the existing ones then this will be great.  Listen to each other is all we can ask.  Listen and don't run.

Fair use rules are for all our protection so please no more than 3 or 4 paragraphs from a quoted story.  We can go to the other site to read which is the wonder of the net.

Disrespect of others is the only thing not tolerated here.

Civil Discourse is the rule of the day.

Our member and friend Creeper wrote a comment that so perfectly states what we mean by civil discourse.  Update of 10/17/09 Creeper more or less left the site in August of 2009 because, I think, I would not agree with her and come to her defense in her personal feud with another member.  I cannot begin to say how badly I miss blogging with her, but I stand by my principles and do not ban users because some think them a troll.  Sorry, that's me.

from Creeper: When I was in my twenties I had a conversation with my dad.  I'd read an article on abortion rights that was in direct opposition to my position and was fuming about the author's narrow-minded position.  My dad asked me why I read opinions that did not support my own position.  After I'd recovered from the shock, I told him that reading contrary opinions was the only way I would know if my own was correct. 

When you listen to the other side of an argument one of two things will happen.  You will either realize you were wrong and change your position or you will be confirmed in what you believe to be true.

You and I don't always agree but I treasure your presence here.  You make me think. 

1 Some reading this may think "isn't this NewHampster's site?".  So yes, Snark, well written, quality snark is not only allowed it is encouraged.  It should not be the norm but I believe that there is Always room for humor.  People with no sense of humor may be on the wrong site.  I encourage the use of the Snark tag in order to un-confuse some folks but of course those who will be confused don't read the tags.
