It Hasn't Been that Long....
A young man named David caught people's attention this week, because he would not be silenced, despite the fact he was outnumbered by those who tried.
Watching brave David made me very sad, but it also made me come to terms with what Progressives have wrought, and what they are attempting. (Have you been thinking along those lines? I certainly hope I'm not the only one.)
It looks like Obama could be getting what he wanted - a new world order. From what we're watching taking place, it looks like Israel could be kicked to the curb, despite Obama's campaign speeches that promised otherwise. In less than 18 short months, his presidency has made major strides in solidifying his Progressive agenda.
His speech in Egypt that was the centerpiece of his reframing of the Middle East, basically gave a heads up to Islamic fundamentalists. Moreover, his policies, coupled with his placement of far-left ideologues in important positions, has given the UN the final encouragement it needed to fully empower the Islamic States. The illicit flotilla trip to Israel was a carefully staged, illicit pro-Hamas campaign stunt. If Israel had let the ship go through its protected waters to Palestine, the "human rights" activists with terrorist ties would have wrecked havoc on land. Why did the United States and DR Susan Rice allow it to happen?
Remember North Korea recently blew a South Korean ship out of the water killing 47 innocent people, and the UN remained pretty much silent. Where was the human rights outrage? Why weren't there any activists screaming for appeasement? As I remember it, nobody manned a boat destined for South Korea, thumbing their noses at North Korea's patrol of its waters, demanding answers.
The UN's placement of Iran's leadership on an important human rights council is only the beginning. Look for the UN (under some guise) to bless Sharia Law in the future, a doctrine that declares a woman is worth half a man, that sanctions slavery, and discriminates against non-Muslims. The POTUS and his minions will see to it that we continue to fund the anti-American United Nations as it works against our interests and channels funds in directions dangerous to our way of life.
President Obama's position on Iran has also been interesting. When Iran's young people protested for an anti-nuclear green Iran and more secular freedom, the POTUS remained mostly silent about their quest for Western ways. However, he wasn't always silent when it came to Iran. His words, actions, and inactions have enabled and increased Iran's nuclear capabilities, which includes placing nuclear weapons in the hands of Islamic fascists.
He is changing the world, while staying true to the uber-left's desire to de-develop the United States. During his short time in office, our economy has hit low points never thought possible, our debt multiplies in leaps and bounds. Unemployment increases, and as a result, our young are being forced to wonder if they have no future.
As a citizen of the world, President Obama has ended NASA's programs and passed its torch to Russia. Adopting that mindset, he has remained largely disengaged from the Horizon Oil Rig Disaster and charged the Brits with clean up of our Gulf coast. As America watches an ecological disaster of Biblical proportions unfold, one that threatens treasured natural habitats, beloved wildlife, and more of our economy, Obama has concentrated on what he deemed important. He made sure that he raised campaign funds and vacationed.
In less than 18 months, President Obama has managed to do, what most Americans never expected and would never have thought possible. He isn't even half way through his first term of office. What else do you think he has up his sleeves?

I saw that video the other day but have been to busy to post it here. Thanks! My mom had a medical emergency late Tuesday night and we didn't get home until 1 AM Wednesday morning and then I had a dental emergency yesterday. We're all fine now.
For the past couple of days, Glenn Beck has been doing a fantastic job explaining what's going on with the world's reaction to how Israel dealt with that "peace" flotilla. He explained the history and put things into perspective. Yesterday, he talked about who was behind the Free Gaza movement that sponsored the flotilla. They were communists, of course, like the woman who runs Code Pink, plus Obama's old buddies William Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dorn. IOW, a typical leftist alliance that's pro-terror, pro-Hamas, pro-Palestinian, anti-American, anti-Israel, anti-capitalism, anti-woman, anti-freedom, anti-democracy, anti-everything we hold dear. They're scum, enemies of the American way.
When my wife saw what Beck was saying about all this, she exclaimed, "Thank God for that man!" I was shocked because I've known her for over 39 years and never heard her say "thank God" about anything.
Today, Beck discussed the longtime pairing of anti-Semitism with socialism/communism. It started in the late 19th century when a German socialist coined the phrase "anti-Semitism." Basically, it's because socialists and communists are anti-capitalism and since it's thought that Jews are the primo capitalists, Marx, the self-hating Jew, said the way to defeat capitalism is to start with the Jews. Once they're out of the way, it'll be easier to tear down capitalism. Human beings fare best in a country that has both freedom and capitalism. Did you know that Israel has just about the best economy in the world? It sure isn't anywhere near the biggest but it's one of the best. The leftists join with jihadists against Israel because they have something in common, the destruction of freedom, capitalism, and the Western world.
I was really impressed with David for taking such a bold stand against the anti-Israel protestors. At the end of the video, a young idiot protester was asked about Israel and the bible and he said he didn't know anything about the Jews being in Israel since 5,000 years ago. He thought the Jews stole Israel from the Arabs in 1948. What a dummy but typical. Beck went into the history of the modern state of Israel starting in 1917 with the Balfour Declaration that was written by hand on hotel stationary. It was done because Britain was thankful that a Jew helped that nation fight Germany in WWI.
Please do yourself a favor and watch the clips posted here: Glenn Beck, 6.2.2010: The Story Of America And Israel | Logistics Monster. It's one of the best shows Glenn Beck has every done.
Because you ask, I will go to LM and see it when I get the chance. However, a word of caution, Glenn Beck is a radio/tv personality, who likes the limelight and has his own agenda. Like Obama, Beck has a group behind him. He is not a lone warrior. Who are they? What do they want?
The first time I watched Beck in action, he was dressed in suspenders and wearing short pants. (Like Germany's young during Hitler's rise.) I think the show focused on Obama's use of impressionable young people. Anyway, an alarm bell went off in my head, because Beck seemed so manipulative to me, too much an actor.
A lot of people like Beck, because they feel they are learning facts from him. To me, it means I need to be aware of what he's doing. On the other hand, I know some people really dislike him, which gives me pause and reminds me not to get sucked in by a cult of personality and to keep some distance.
I value my independence, Ron. I'll go to LM, but while I'm reading and viewing, I'll be sure to keep my mind's eye on me. I'll watch him, but I'll be watching me watching him. (It's exactly what I try to do with Obama, and what I did with Bush.)
I'm fighting to stay on the straight and narrow, which traditionally is neither right nor left, but somewhere in the middle. I'm having a hard time of it, because the left's leadership has taken a hard turn into some really ugly territory. I don't like what I'm watching and where they are taking the country. I cannot follow them there; it goes against my American principles. It's very disturbing.
overtones. I can't buy into everything Beck says but a good bit of it is worth watching and listening to. He's a showman, an entertainer and he's pretty good at it.. Some of his impersonations are funny. He manages to add a fun spin to some heavy material he's trying to share with us.
BTW, it's easy to dislike those who hate Beck. The reason they hate him is because he's interfering with their agenda and that makes me happy.
