Not the Kind the Far-Left Wanted, but Revolution Nevertheless

Today is the one-year anniversary of President Barack Obama’s Inauguration. Yesterday, Blue Massachusetts turned its state election into a referendum on both Democratic Party tactics and the Obama agenda.  The voters shook up the Washington establishment and sent the message loud and clear that their Senate seat belongs to the people and they can bestow it on whom they please.

Massachusetts voters have had enough of the tax & tax again mentality that fuels Deval Patrick and like-minded politicians. (“It’s the economy, Stupid!”) Despite a strong Democratic Party machine and a visit by the POTUS, voters selected Scott Brown, because he has promised to be the 41st vote against Obama Health Care. Last night, in his victory speech he sealed that deal:  "I go to Washington as the representative of no faction or interest, answering only to my conscience and to the people. I’ve got a lot to learn in the Senate, but I know who I am and I know who I serve. I’m Scott Brown. I'm from Wrentham. I drive a truck, and I am nobody’s senator but yours.”

If it can happen in Massachusetts, it can happen anywhere and everywhere. It was from Massachusetts after all that the colonials issued a similar message long ago. This may be another revolution. Fortunately, not the kind hoped for by the far left, but a revolution nevertheless. The death hold the far left progressives have on our futures may end, thereby  giving  decent regular Dems the wakeup call they need to stand firm against a wrongheaded ideology.

We need a bi-partisan Congress that works for the public good. It is what the public wants. It is what Barack Obama promised before  he took office and conveniently lost his memory.

I look to Hillary Clinton to explain it to the clueless. She understands, just as she did when she stood on that stage with her husband and daughter at Baruch College in lower Manhattan. Radiant in defeat, she seemed victorious, as is always the case for those who fight the good fight.

Please talk to them, Hillary; tell them where they went wrong.

This sounds a lot like the victory speech of Chris Christie, the new Republican governor of New Jersey. They are wising up, some of these Repub candidates -- they do not tie themselves to the national party, they try to be inclusive (mentioning JFK held the seat.)

He also said:

"From the Berkshires to Boston, from Springfield to Cape Cod, the voters of this Commonwealth defied the odds and the experts. And tonight, the independent majority has delivered a great victory. I thank the people of Massachusetts for electing me as your next United States senator.Every day I hold this office, I will give all that is in me to serve you well and make you proud. Most of all, I will remember that while the honor is mine, this Senate seat belongs to no one person and no political party - and as I have said before, and you said loud and clear today, it is the people’s seat."

I hope he is 4 real and not an O wantabe.

that he'll do an Obama and run for Prez in 2012 as a still wet behind the ears senator.

He certainly cleans up nice but we know very little about him as a person, howevedr, that never stopped the numbnuts from making Obama prez.

It was funny the way Obama, hiding behind his teleprompters gave him the best closing line in the campaign:  I’m Scott Brown. I'm from Wrentham. I drive a truck, and I am nobody’s senator but yours.”

It emphasized the snob factor in Obama who ran on arugula, while appealing to all the boyz and their girz supporters with truck - the all American dream of the common man - truck being a symbol of a rugged he-man.

I don't know much about him either, so I did some investigating. He served 3 terms as a Mass state rep before running for state senator, and he was in his third term as a state senator when he decided to run for the US Senate. He  received a BA from Tufts and Boston College Law School. He has been active in the National Guard for about thirty years.

For a quick bio, I went to Wiki and found this:

"Brown has said that he "didn't grow up with all the advantages in life" and that his working mother needed welfare benefits for a short time. During various periods of his childhood, Brown also lived with his grandparents and his aunt. Brown has stated that as a youth he was involved in some violence related to sticking up for his mother, and at the age twelve was brought before Judge Samuel Zoll in Salem, Massachusetts for shoplifting record albums. Zoll asked Brown if his siblings would like seeing him play basketball in jail, and required him to write a 1500 word essay on the topic as his punishmennt. Brown said, 'That was the last time I ever stole, the last time I ever thought [about stealing... The other day I was at Staples, and something was in my cart that I didn’t pay for. I had to bring it back because.... I thought of Judge Zoll.'"   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_P._Brown

what fuels the revolution, they can go to the machinist's forum mr. creeper reads.  From that forum:

April 2001 I started my business, I did better that first year (9 months) than I did in 2009 (12 months). I sell and repair construction equipment, two years ago I was turning work away, picking and choosing.
I did $100. in November and nothing in December, nothing so far this month! Change you can believe in!
I heard on the radio that the Census Bureau is paying $15. hour but you probably have to be a card carrying member of ACORN.

People who still have their jobs don't get it.  Nothing has changed for them.  They can afford the luxury of supporting another Democrat "on principle".

We're dying out here.  We're laid-off, cut back and squeezed to the breaking point.  We're broke, we're scared and we're desperate for Washington to fix the mess they made.  It's about survival at this point and any candidate who even seems to understand that is going to get our votes.

CAN YOU HEAR US NOW?

GONE FISHING

It's about the economy. The far left elitists who first hijacked the Democratic Party and then transformed it in FL  to push their leftist agenda don't get it, because they are members of the privileged class. They aren't suffering and despite their rhetoric there isn't an altruistic bone amongst them.

Yesterday gave Americans what they wanted; the chance to kick them to the curb.

Now is NOT the time to pass cap and trade!!

Apparently one of the reasons Byron Dorgon retired is he saw cap and trade coming down the pike, and he saw it as a big giveaway to Wall Street.

The Waxman-Markey Bill will raise average consumers' energy bills and make it more costly to run a business in America. If businesses can't operate here, they will take their offices to other countries more favorable to them.

from beyond the grave.

No way would he allow a mere woman to take his precious seat, especially one who supported Hillary and did not follow his instructions that every Dem MUST support  - the Obamaman.

is that crazy Keith Olbermann, who went over the deep edge long ago.  Right? Or is there another goof to add to the mix?

However, Ted Kennedy should be a part of this discussion. Kennedy put his political weight behind Obama and sold him to the American public by giving legitimacy to the idea that Obama was a JFK clone. Like Chappaquiddick, this mistake will always be tied to Kennedy's name and tarnish his record.

Ted Kennedy kicked Hillary Clinton to the curb to put Obama in office. Some people say he didn't want the Clinton name to overshadow his family. Truth? Who knows....

Teddy was furious at anyone who wouldn't follow his lead and go for THE Obamaman.

Guess the [ - ] suggested I was quoteing someone.  Gee Wilikers!  Who's doing the crazy punctuating now?    )

I think I also understand something else. Ted Kennedy did a lot of good for this country, but his last year in office created collateral damage that still has repercussions.

Kennedy's anointing of Obama was a huge mistake. People are blaming it on his brain cancer. Perhaps it is the reason....

but I cannot ever forgive him for what he did to the Clintons.  Not just picking O over H but going out of his way to demean both Hillary and Bill, never criticizing O's misogynistic campaign but rather associating himself with it.

Not so sure I'd give him a pass on the brain cancer reason because of the reports of many of his doctors who said how keen and able he was right up to the end.  They marveled at his clarity of thought, his memory etc.

This really sums up Obama's first year nicely:

He's Done Everything Wrong

Obama punted on the economy and reversed the fortunes of the Democrats in 365 days.

He's Done Everything Wrong - The Daily Beast

Senator Brown may well be the key to stopping Obama's agenda which includes the wrong sort of HC reform, cap & trade, and amnesty for illegal aliens. The majority of the people don't want to have anything to do with any of those things.

Obama has done all he can to push his leftist agenda. "He's done everything wrong" nails it.
