Politico: No fair! Coakley's a GIRRRL! (was More Coakley: debates)
Coakley's on right now (oops, sorry for the late notice). Debate hosted by local ABC affiliate (ch 5), with Janet Wu, yet again attacking Coakley like a rabid dog. I don't know what Janet Wu has against her, but it's scary weird.
Anyway, a second debate tomorrow: Airing on NECN (TV) and WBUR (radio). Other sponsors include the Boston Globe and WGBH.
Ok, now Wu is asking Capuano why Ted Kennedy's family hasn't endorsed him, which is a totally ridiculous question. So I guess she's just an idiot.
Election in just 7 days, Coakley's still ahead by at least 15 points. I find the debates interesting but doubt they'll change all that much.
update: check out Ron's link to Politico's take on the debate. Although, with my edited headline I've spoiled it for you.

Martha Coakley a target in Mass. Senate debate - Jonathan Martin - POLITICO.com
The whole article is a weasely ickfest implying that the 3 'real' candidates (ie, the guys) are being held back because Martha's female.
How's this for journalism: Politico says "Coakley touted her background in law enforcement while making a nod to her gender."
Here's Coakley's "nod" to her gender:

I believe the next U.S. senator should be a different kind of leader, one who can roll up her sleeves, tackle problems and get results.

I mean really, was she supposed to say "his sleeves"? Are you freakin' kidding me?
Politico's take on Coakley's lead, in a nutshell:

Yet Capuano was cautious in how he singled out Coakley, not even mentioning her name, and Pagliuca’s exchange with the Massachusetts attorney general underscored why the three men in the race have tread carefully against the female frontrunner in a state not typically known for such a genteel brand of politics....
But Coakley’s coolly-delivered rejoinder captured the difficulty the three men trailing her are having in trying to gain traction, without being overly hostile, against a female frontrunner in a liberal state where gender has been a subtle but persistent theme in the Dec. 8 Democratic primary.
Massachusetts has just one woman in its congressional delegation—she has endorsed Coakley, while most of the rest state's House members are backing Capuano.

(emphasis added).
I wish I could come up with a more clever response to this twitwittery than invoking vomiting, but that's all I got.
