Yes my friends we missed our frigging anniversary a week ago. My last post on cheetoland was March 14. Here's a reminder of that last post I had so much fun with. Sign

Bloggers

Please come to the flip side for some more memories.

First.  Those who miss the viper pit known as big orange please raise your hand.

I thought so.  So if nobody misses it why are so many drawn back?  Is it for the comeraderie you have with the little trolls?

But this is a happy occasion and I digress.  The reason I venture has something to do with going home to mommy, mother blog, daily kos.  Yeah some of you actually started at MyDD the "Blog Father" but most got their blogging wings at dKos and you know what else?

Markos has some software that makes the rest of the blogging world jealous. That is what I miss and I think subcontiously it is what many really miss.  The instantaneous responses, the easy editing the liveliness.

But do you really miss chatting with kids who think great politics is how often they flip off a woman blogger that could be their grandmother?  Do you?

Do you miss being called a Rethuglican because you support the most qualified person to ever run for President?  Do you?

Do you miss Markos O'Reilly proselytizing as the last saviour of American politics.  Do you?

I thought so. I don't miss it at all.

My route started totally elsewhere.  I started 5 years ago on the forums of Democratic Underground.  There I was part of a Hillary group headed by the gutsy Tellurian.  The migration to dKos began early as DU went sour very early.  We left dKos as a group in March when we refused to keep creating content for the asshole to make millions off.  Yes folks.  He makes millions and he goes where the money is.  It's that valuable group age 18 to 45.

So we left cheetoville, had some fun at Hillarysbloiggers, took over MyDD then got forced off there.  Why does a Jew like me call this the Diaspora

Then many of us came together and helped our angel Alegre build a corner of the Internet for the support of HRC and the continuing fight for women's rights, medical rights, educational rights, loving rights, monetary right and of course Human rights.

Six months after our strike I say to all my friends that the diaspora continues.  I still believe in those rights I still believe in the fight I still beleive in democracy in picking candidates and I still believe in all of you.

As I think someone once said, "The Revolution will continue in the morning".   For me the revolution is now.  For Me the priority is to be certain that we are not stuck for the next 8 years with an incompetent actor who will never bring us Universal Health Care, will never bring us marraige equity, will never bring us any of the issues we all find so critical to a good life.

That is why I am actively, fiercely and with all my heart doing everything I can to see he loses.  I can suffer through 4 more years.  I cannot suffer through the rest of my life thinking what could have been.

That is why I have moved on once again.

and I am grateful. Because I won't sign up again, it's easier to stay away. My outlook is much more positive these days.

That strike was great, as were your graphics.

Even though I have copies I like to see them in context.

Thanks for the complement on the graphics fishie.

I tried buying some of that nDkos but Walgreen's never heard of it.

ha!  I had an account at kos but never posted that I remember.

thanks for the this site.  I'm learning about this blog stuff and as a slow old woman I think I am gald that this blog isn't so fast as it sounds that kos place is.  That sounds like a place for kids.

I miss good rational, adult conversations about politics.  I miss speaking with my Edwards or Richardson supporting friends about the technical differences between John's Health Care plan and Hillary's or even McCains.

That's what I want again someday.  I am so sick of the my guys bigger than your guy politics of this year.

Can anyone explain to me why this guy has tears in his eyes?

It's nice to have so many alternative sites where we can share our thoughts without a disparaging word. I was on dKos but left over 2 years ago when I found out that so many anti-Israel leftists, libertarians, Marxists or whomever were running amok. Too much for this diaspora Jew. Israel was fighting against Hezbollah at the time. That's when I started watched Fox but drifted back to CNN, then back to Fox this year.

Oh, I used to be on DU, too, and MyDD earlier this year. No more. There are a whole bunch of sites I dare not go now. With all the horrendous garbage I've seen on what I used to consider liberal sites, I've had to redefine what those creatures are and what a liberal is. It's just appalling how so-called progressives behave these days. Maybe they're really neo-commies.

Thanks, Hampster! Thanks for your little island of sanity.

Before I go, I just wanted to mention that I'm totally flipped out about the idea of a chunk of this bailout package the Dems put together that would go to ACORN!!! Geez!

Nobama - I too am concerned regarding ACORN - is this payback already for thugging for BZero? Seems like a neon sign pointing to another dubious relationship.

I miss the software totally at DK. I miss all those wonderful informative mature multitaskers I enjoyed for like almost five years. I left close to the end of January. The last six months I was getting headaches and acid reflux. Hm, I have not been back - cold turkey - never even clicked a reference to open anything from there. I innocently got some screen shots of some diaries thinking "who would believe this tripe" - hah, naive yes.

Who knew Kos was really a rethug - and an egomaniac.

It's 4:30 am - can't sleep, got your invite - look forward to participating. I do have to rest a little - duty calls.

Great graphics!Wink

This has been the weirdest election I have ever witness- I'm beginning to think most Americans are taking to many drugs- especially mood drugs.

I will never vote for Obama. Not sure I can vote for McCain either, but there's always Nader. Only voting Dems down ticket I want the old gang gone.

Hey Hampster didn't I read that you're running for some office? what town in NH?

But I'm only what is called a "filler".  The speaker called and begged because in NH if dems don't fill all the slots on our side then they get filled by repubs.  weird, but my goal is to lose because there is no way I can do a good job up there with a 70 hour job here.

But State Rep does pay $100/year if I win.

Anyone from my town listenning please vote for Tammy, Emily and the rest.

than never I suppose. I got into the blogging thing just at the time of the strike- so have never been to the big orange cheeto. I did some back-up and rescue work at MyDD- they didn't like me much over there! I was just going along in my little town, talking Hillary and joined EONS where I heard of all the political blogs. You all know the rest!

Now I have a dilemma (sp?) Seems the down-ticket Dem I voted for in the primary to try to oust English has taken a page out of Obama's playbook. She challenged a bunch of the independent candidate's signatures in a effort to get him kicked off the ballot! It's making its way through the PA courts right now.

I am concerned about the down-ticket races in general- I am NOBAMA all the way- but in the back of my mind a little voice is saying- "Neutralize him" whichever one gets in. Gotta make sure that whoever gets in in Nov has his hands tied with an unfriendly Congress.

What to do- what to do????

I'm working for Jeannie Shaheen because John McCain needs a dem congress to pass the programs he really believes in.Kiss

So I went to the Great Satan to see when my last post was.  Couldn't believe I left before you did.

Here's my swan song:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/3/18/101119/802/949/479077

When it reached the point where you could bounce facts and figures off them all day and never get through I realized it was time to move on.  There are a few posters I still miss (and I wonder how they can tolerate it there) but by and large the good ones are gone.  They're now here and at The Confluence and By the Fault and Reclusive Leftist and InsightAnalytical and a string of other blogs that actually welcome reasoned discourse.

I hung out for a while at MyDD which, oddly, is no longer on Markos' blogroll even though they drank the kool aid months ago.  When I first went there I found a lot of people who had left dKos...thinkers and doers who were sick of the juveniles at Big Orange.  Slowly but surely, as the kool-aid took effect on the administrators, those people departed for blogs where their opinions were at least allowed, if not totally welcome.

The blog I miss the most is Alegre's Corner.  Alegre works like a slave for that blog.  But it's not a comfortable place for those of us who feel we have no choice but to vote for McCain in order to keep Obama out.

I loved Markos' software too, NH.  That's where I learned links and embeds and all that spiffy stuff.  But spiffy software doesn't hold a candle to substantive content.  We'll get this program sorted out and it'll be as good as theirs was some day.  The biggest thing we have going here is the threaded format.  Much as I like The Confluence, it's one jumble of posts, with no capacity for a direct reply to a comment.  This is much better!

GONE FISHING

I like the threads too.

I still chat with some Obama people from the kos days but on other grown up blogs like Blue Hampshire.  When we left I was just getting to know some of the people with back end groups that had nothing to do with the presidential race.  The environment etc.

But if I was to sneak in and post in one of those I can guarantee that a bot would know it within 2 minutes and the crap would begin.

oh well
