All or Nothing At all
Coverage for All or Coverage For None
The rhetorical circus about health care goes on. Ringmaster Obama got into the Center Ring on ABC last night. There they are, the folks at ABC right in the Center Ring with the Ringmaster instead of observing as if they were reporters instead of press agents. They have become part of the entertainment and are no longer members of the audience. Not much new about that but always worth a comment or a complaint.
I admit to being confused about the whole health care debate. That’s understandable since nearly everyone is lying about something. To get at the truth would take an honest media and an involved population. Since many/most of both are too busy shining Obama’s shoes and raising their voices in praise it doesn’t seem likely those of us who actually want to understand have much of a chance to do so.
But if you are persistent and patient, a glimmer of truth shines forth from the Political rhetorical rubbish heap occasionally.
Jake Tapper of ABC occasionally asks Obama a direct and non-worshipful question. It’s obvious that Obama, so addicted to the worshipful and softball questioning by the supine White House Press Corpse doesn’t like it. Not a fan evidently of reporters behaving, like, well, reporters. It’s not something with which he is accustomed. Poor little thug gets downright testy. Mr. Cool morphs into Mr. Ice-cold. Not cool.
At the Tuesday, June 23 Press Conference Tapper refused to let Obama off the hook on a couple of tough questions about health care. When Obama didn’t answer a previous question from another reporter Tapper asked it again. Obama tried to laugh it off and hilarity ensued.
Because Health Care is such a funny topic. Guess it can be to folks like Obama and the White House Press Corpse. They all have it. Obama of course has the best in the world, supplied for him and his family by money from the citizens of this country, many who can’t afford Health Care. Isn’t that just sidesplitting? Cue laughter.
Some of us are trying desperately to understand exactly what is going on in the halls of power and we aren’t reassured. Too many Politicians are playing patty cake with Insurance Companies because they are beholden to them for campaign contributions. We know where our welfare balances with their campaign costs. Heads money wins, tails we lose. SOP. Not a change or a hope for one in sight.
Now we are all down to a forlorn hope that at least the “Public Option” will be a part of the “Health Reform Bill”. And a forlorn hope it is. Because it’s not anywhere near what we need yet even that seems tenuous. Without the public option, but with a mandated system we will “have” to buy insurance whether we want to or not, else we will be fined. Thus the insurance industry will have been given another juicy wet kiss from our government.
Our Representatives are like Governor Sanford, wed to us but sleeping in someone else’s’ bed. Philandering isn’t always about sex. Sometimes it’s just about getting screwed.
Please spare me the “they’ll help the poor folks” buy insurance rhetoric. I’ve heard that song before. Being out of work and out of money for me was never enough to even get a little “Heat Assistance” when I was freezing my ass off. I am never poor enough.
I fear what we will get is another giant bill, too big to read, to complicated to understand and passed anyway. Why should this time be any different?
Might be nice if politicians had to take an oath like physicians that they “First Do No Harm”. Nah, they take an oath to uphold the Constitutions and look how cavalierly they ignore that.
I want the nincompoops in Washington to come up with a simple health plan that covers every American. Or I want them to not be allowed to keep the coverage they have courtesy of taxpayer dollars. Does that make me petty and vindictive? Okay.
I want a health care plan that covers all of us or none of us. Taxpayer money, by definition, belongs to all of us, not just to Federal Employees. If we can afford insurance for them, then we must afford insurance for us. If not, then they don’t get to feed at the public trough at our expense.
It doesn’t seem very Democratic to me to take money from all of us to insure some of us. Only those of us that happen to be Federal Employees get to have a nice little health care plan paid for by the suckers that can’t afford one is quite a scam.
Lucky for the elite buzzards in Washington I’m not in charge. Cause if I was, they’d be paying for their own health insurance just like the rest of us peasants.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if that should happen that they couldn’t suddenly find the money for coverage for all. Maybe by shutting down one or more of they’re little pet wars. You know, the ones that have been going on so long they’re like background noise that doesn’t get as much attention as Obama swatting a fly.
Then I want to have a conversation about the pension plans these asshats get at our expense.

After learning about the RAT buried in the stimulus bill it makes me wonder what would be hidden in a massive health-care bill.
I'm beginning to wear down. A sense of hopelessness pervades my thoughts of the future. There appears to be nothing to stop this man. The kool-aid that was consumed by the tankful during the campaign is still being passed out and eagerly accepted by voters brainwashed from all the celebrity coverage of Obama.
This isn't a wet kiss to the insurance companies. It's a full blo....nevermind.

Marge...Good Topic and a Really BIG Issue...very important to Our PEOPLE...and Yes..We Do Need Good Health reform..
You are Right...Its Never about the Common Good...Common welfare or the PEOPLE..At the Top..Its alway About POLITICS ..The Root of all Evil...and The POLITICIANS...who often do the devils work...since most things Evil..or Ill Willed are usually Because of EGO at the CORE..
Yes...except for FOX....The Media is still Star Sruck...and CATERING...and bowing ..and smoozing Cheeks..( You decided WHCH Cheeks) like they were at a Embassy Function..Ah those Influences that turn people form SANE to SNOB...SNOOTY..(or SNOTY) ..and trannsform them into ALTERED STATES...Yes...those POOR States) of Fantasy and IDOLIZING... Very Dangerous Game to Play by the POWERFUL..
We, The People do not Want or Need Brainwashing..Bullshit or Manipulation from those who TRY to CONTROL our thinking or Lifes...
After all...Its not about Them..in thier Little Beltway..East Coast Eitist Club...Those who have had Life handed to them on a GOLD CALF PLATTER...Stacked High with CASH...(Private or Public Funds)...who don't even Know or understand how the Average Working Class or Low and NO Income People Live....Or they have Forgotten Where they CAME FROM..
What it IS About is the Wefare..Security and Happiness of We, The People...Since we are the Ones Buying or paying for the PIE...we should get a Slice too...
Since the Government should only be doing this ONCE...Then they should Do It Right..Effeciently..and Effective...with The Welfare of the PEOPLE in Mind...and with total Co-Operation and Participation from All Health care Providers..Clinics and Hosp[itals...and with Consessions and Realisitic Co-operation from the Drug Manufactures...and elemination of High Costs..Waste...and the Buying of Political influence in this Matter..

WE ALL DESERVE BETTER.....!!
I believe that all people should have the same rights. I don't believe that some dumb ass Senator is one bit better than some auto mechanic out here in the sticks. If one is worthy of good health care insurance paid for by taxpayer dollars then so should the other.
As I said, I'm a simple soul and not the sharpest tool in the shed. Can't be very smart cause I still believe in fairness after all I've seen. Don't expect it much, but I do believe in it.

Right on Marge! I watched that pathetic excuse for a townhall meeting last night. I didn't want to but something told me I should. I am glad I did, now, because I figured out something about what Obama plans to do. If you have ever had a doctor tell you something like, "Your loved one is old, or very ill and won't recover. Do you really want to keep them alive like this?" If you've had a doctor say that to you or know someone that has, you will get my drift. My great-grandmother's doctor told my grandmother that almost 20 years ago. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. He was suggesting to just let her die because it was costing too much to keep her alive. My grandfather died last Sept., because the hospital forced my grandmother to remove the respirator and watch him die. Medicare wouldn't pay for him to be hooked-up more than a few days and the hospital wouldn't fight for him, because it wasn't cost effective, and he was taking up space they needed for someone else.
If you are really old or really sick and you most likely won't recover, your care will probably be very minimal at best. No expensive treatments will be given to you, in hopes that it may prolong your life a short time. That wasn't said straight-out, but I listened very intently to the reply Obama gave to an email question and a reply he gave to a woman in the audience and to a doctor that was there. This is the way Obama plans to reduce health-care costs. Chills ran down my back. It is bad enough now, so what will it be like if Obama gets what he wants?
One way to keep votes going his way would be to kill off the older folks I guess. Much as I loathe the little poser I never would have thought him that evil. But then he's a Chicago thug that has surrounded himself with the kind of Chicago thugs that have held Chicago in bondage for generations.
To be perfectly honest there is little I would put beyond him, Axelrod and Emmanuel. Bush had his Darth Cheney to twist arms and thump heads behind the scenes. Obama has Emmanuel. Some change!

You had to read between the lines to catch that this is one of the ways he plans to save money. The insurance companies are going to make out like bandits, even more than they already do. People are going to have to buy insurance coverage and then have the privilege of being denied care to save the insurance company money. While on one hand having medical records computerized and networked can be a good thing, it also will make it easy to deny care. They will be able to access any and all tests and treatments someone has had. This will make it possible for doctors, hospitals and insurance companies to compare treatments for the same diseases or conditions for many different people and figure out the least they can do and still keep someone alive.
Marge, remember Obama's vote in the Illinois Senate to deny medical care to babies born alive after an abortion? The handwriting has long been on the wall.

any who wish can buy their own insurance and not rely on the piss poor plan for the piss poor of us. So it seems things will change very little as them that has, gits, just as it has always been.
Rich people and doctor's families get fantastic treatment - all through the use of "professional courtesy". The dems are ramming this through because people are beginning to wake up and they want most voters to still be stoned on the bamalove so they won't notice the bamacrap until it's too late.
each member of Congress (and their families) had to switch their health insurance for the health insurance of randomly selected Americans? I think that would be a great initiative. Enough would end up with no insurance, or Medicaid, or crap private insurance, that I think they'd start to come around. Even better would be if they had to get all their care under the name of the person they switched with (no special treatment for the 'Senator', in other words). They'd have all the same hassles as we commoners do. And had their spending money limited by the financial circumstances of whoever they switched with. And the switch would be forever, so whatever they passed for health care would hang around their necks forever, too.
I wouldn't include Obama in this little scheme, bc he's a lost cause. But let's see the rest of them have to wait around an emergency room for 8 hours to get looked at, and then see how many gripe about the problem with health care is that there are all these people running around with 'luxury plans'.
Also, 535 randomly selected Americans would get top-notch care they didn't have to pay for. Not that health care should be parceled out on a 'lottery' basis, but since it practically already is anyway, it wouldn't be much different.
Yep, Valhalla, you have to walk a mile in someone's shoes before you can truly know what they are dealing with. If Congress had to walk a mile in all of our shoes, they'd soon begin to "get it." Right now, none of them seem to have a clue what it is like for most of us. I didn't have any health insurance for many years, and I can tell you, it was so frightening for me. There are more than 40 million people without insurance. Congress should have to know what that feeling is like.
Congress can’t relate to us, because most of them are millionaires. The net worth of Congress increased in November when people thought “Change” was voted into office. Congress' new members reported a median net worth of $1.8 million.
We do not elect lawmakers who can personally relate to what the average American is going through financially, instead Americans elect people who talk about feeling our pain. Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va) is the richest among the freshmen of the 111th Congress. He is worth between $60.6 million and $415.1 million. New Rep. Jared Polis(D-Colo.) is worth between $97.4 million and $254.4 million. Polis is now the third wealthiest member of the HoR. In total, the freshman class of the 111th Congress reported investments in the finance, insurance and real estate sector worth between $126.3 million & $352.4 million in 2007.
Obama doesn't want to make our lives better; he wants to make us dependent on government, dependent on those in power. He sees us as a collective group, not as individuals. In that mindset, he feels that if some of us suffer or die, it is a price worth paying for his collective vision.
than relating to us or walking in our shoes. It takes decency and morality in believing that "we" have the right to the same kind of health care that they do.
It takes a mentality that finds the life of a short order cook as important as the life of a CEO.
It takes people that believe that doing what right is more important that getting re-elected.
It takes people of competence, decency, honesty and with the ability to care enough about the people they serve to not get caught up in the whole Washington "Rulers of the Universe" attitude.
It takes all those things and probably more that I haven't thought of. How many of our Congress People and our Senators, or the "President" do you think could qualify for any of those qualities? A couple? Several? A few? Isn't that pathetic?

my lantern.
) Part of the problem is that both parties manipulate the electorate, and true to form the majority falls for it time and time again. People like Rove and Axelrove know it is the case, so the campaigns they ran were full of lies, half-truths, and distortions. Axelrove and Obama even had thousands of young people on the Internet who knowingly took part in the fraud.
Amen to that Marge!
that government employees do pay for their own health insurance. Like other employers, the government contributes to the insurance premiums. As Obama said, employees get to pick the plan they want and choose the doctor they want.
BTW, the healthcare focus is a distraction from the thing that would be the most dramatic tax increase on all of us, cap &
tradetax.The Cap and Tax Fiction - WSJ.com
to their health insurance. Like most people who are insured with "good" health care plans they pay a minuscule amount compared to those who have "rotten" health care plans such as employees who work for Wal-Mart as one example.
When I worked at Wal-Mart, many years ago, few if any employees took advantage of the Health Plan offered because they simply could not afford it. Coverage for spouse and/or children would cost most of their salary.
UAW workers, here in Kenosha, making triple or quadruple the amount of Wal-Mart employees, paid considerably less. I am not talking about percentages either, I am talking about actual dollars and cents. Plus they received vision, prescription and dental care which Wal-Mart did not offer at the time.
Federal employees get the same kind of, or better insurance. And it is mostly paid for by their employer, which is the federal government, which is us. All us taxpayers who cannot afford decent medical coverage are helping to pay for very good coverage for people who make considerably more money than we do.
Ever worked at a company where all the executives get "free" medical coverage and all the hourly workers, who make considerably less money, have to pay for theirs? I have. And it sucks.
As for cap and
tradetax I am vehemently opposed to it. But I remain opposed to federal employees, all of them, getting better medical insurance than many/most of the people that help fund it.A Dishonest/Biased Media Is A Crime Against Democracy!
