CNN's Randi Kaye, anti-feminist hack
We already knew that Jack Cafferty is a revolting sexist asshole. But CNN doesn’t only employ grumpy old coots to broadcast their sexist propaganda across the airwaves and the intertubes, they also use what appear to be self-respecting women to do the same. I’m speaking of CNN’s Randi Kaye. Don’t be fooled by her New England education or her gay BFF, she wants to drag women kicking and screaming back into the 1950’s. (The string of pearls is a dead giveaway).
Kaye has been nipping at Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s heels ever since she was tapped to be John McCain’s running mate. Until now, her pieces have been the usual hit jobs. You know, devoid of any real facts, and chock full of innuendo and hearsay from the Governor’s political enemies. But in her latest piece, Kaye lets loose with some serious grade A, woman bashing, Moose excrement. The title itself is enough to make Maureen Dowd quiver in ecstasy.
Todd Palin: ‘first dude’ or ’shadow governor?’
…He’s worked in Alaska’s oil industry and as a fisherman. But in recent times, he’s had another role. Some call him the “Shadow Governor.”
In government circles and among the family’s acquaintances, Todd Palin is known as his wife’s greatest adviser and most loyal protector. One family friend said, “Todd is incredibly supportive and is willing to do whatever it takes to help Sarah.”
So because he’s a supportive husband and his wife’s closest confidante, that must mean that she is a puppet and that he is actually the one in charge? Is that the implication? Because if it is I hope you have some better evidence other than the fact that Todd has one of those penis thingies. Well, let’s see;
CNN has seen thousands of e-mails released this year from the governor’s office that show that Todd Palin was copied on hundreds of them. The topics of the e-mails ranged from public criticism of Sarah Palin to her meetings with corporate leaders.
Andrew Halcro, who ran as an independent against Sarah Palin for governor in 2006 and is a critic of the Palins, wants to know why Todd Palin was being copied on state correspondence.
Halcro wrote a blog post about Todd Palin called “Shadow Governor” and says, “Todd plays the role as kind of the fixer.”
OMG!!!! a bitter, defeated rival has a grudge??? Palin releases her correspondence, and he wrote a BLOG POST about it??!! Quick call the FBI! Seriously, this is borderline absurd. Of course there couldn’t be a simple explanation that would make perfect sense could there…?
But campaign spokeswoman Meg Stapleton explained, “There is spousal privilege in that the governor is asking him to print them off or take care of business.”
Oh. Well what about this from an Alaskan state lawmaker?
“I had a meeting I requested with the governor. … I was particularly surprised that Todd was there. I had never seen a spouse stay in the room through the meeting.”
Here’s a suggestion dumbass, ask if you can speak to her privately. Bet that didn’t even cross your little mind, did it? Sheesh….They really must be going mad because they’re finding out that maybe she really is as squeaky clean as she looks, regardless of her political leanings.
Of course the implication is that she’s in over her head, and that she needs a man to help her out. And this is typical from women who would probably consider themselves liberal and feminist. They believe that because Palin is conservative, she must fit the sexist stereotypes that these very same women say they are trying to eliminate. They can’t stand that a woman can be powerful, and yet not think like they do. The only conclusion they can draw is the old sexist framing that there is a “man behind the curtains”. Yet another set of hypocrites revealed. I guess Michelle Obama is more their idea of a feminist icon:
“She shops at Target, loved ‘Sex and the City’ and never misses the girls’ recitals. The untold romance between a down-to-earth mom and the man who calls her ‘my rock.’”
Meh…I’ll take the basketball playing, long distance running, moose hunter over that any day…but that’s just me.

Gary, I always like your comments on another site. I'm happy to see you posting here. However, I have to ask: Why do you still watch CNN and go to their website? You add to their ratings by doing it and that sends the wrong message if you hate the kind of jpurnalism they have practiced this election. Please, for your own good and the country's, slap yourself and STOP. It's an addiction. You have to stop cold turkey.
